How do you know?
Because of getting triggered, or freezing up. If you find that you get triggered as you get close to someone, emotionally or physically, then this is a sign that your nervous system is kicking into unresolved trauma response.
For example:
You may not consciously remember any incident in your life that was traumatic, and yet these signs all show that past trauma is getting in the way of your capacity to be intimate. Many events that happened to us before our memory can affect us, or we blank out a traumatic event. Sometimes we were exposed to continuous trauma (developmental trauma) such as an unavailable parent or an aggressive caretaker. Shashi is an international teacher of Taoist Sacred Sexuality and Tantra and recognized author for the book "Tantra: Discover the Path from Sex to Spirit" and the accompanying CD.
Her journey began with a degree in Experimental Psychology at Oxford University, which she followed with a quest to find spiritual awakening in the great mystical land of India.
